Agency leak tools

Interactive math and checklists agencies actually forward to a client or partner — not another wall of prose.

Honesty first. The calculator uses published industry ranges (Recurly / Chargebee). It is an estimate of exposure shape, not a scan of your clients and never a guarantee of recoveries.

Tool 01 · live calculator

Portfolio leak exposure

Clients under management × average monthly revenue → estimated monthly at-risk renewals using 5–9% failed-charge benchmarks.

Stores you actively retain / monitor.

Store GMV or recurring book — pick one and stay consistent.

Failed-payment benchmarks apply to recurring charges. Default 55% if unsure.

Defaults = published 5–9% monthly fail range. Adjust only if you have better data.

Portfolio monthly revenue
Recurring slice (your %)
~58% recoverable if caught & retried

Industry-based estimate only. Uses the 5–9% recurring-charge failure band and ~58% recovery-on-retry figures from published Recurly / Chargebee revenue-recovery literature. Not a promise. Not a client scan. Real exposure requires reading live Stripe/Shopify objects.

Tool 02 · the fear, made visual

Who finds it first

Day 0 the leak starts silent. Day 47 the bookkeeper reconciles. The retainer conversation writes itself — unless you got there first.

Day 0 Day 14 Day 30 Day 47 LEAK STARTS Silent. No ticket. DASHBOARDS GREEN GA · ads · speed OK “REVENUE FEELS FLAT” Client shrugs it off BOOKKEEPER FINDS IT Retainer → blame talk Agency path: catch it on a read-only scan before Day 47
Day 0
Leak starts

Failed renewal abandoned. Ghost sub. Coupon past its campaign. Nothing pages anyone.

Day ~14
Everything “looks fine”

Conversion, speed, ROAS still report healthy. Billing layer is dark to the agency stack.

Day ~30
Vague revenue anxiety

Founder says “feels soft.” Creative gets blamed. The fault is still in Stripe objects.

Day ~47
Bookkeeper reconciles

They find months of leakage. The next call is not about growth — it’s about who should have known.

Agency Leak Checklist

Six checks you can run on a client store today. Tick them off. Print or save as PDF — value they keep turns the page into a reference.

  • Check 01 · Stripe
    Failed payments never retried

Active subscriptions whose latest invoice is unpaid with no successful retry in the dunning window.

  • Check 02 · Stripe
    Ghost subscriptions still billing

Subs that should have ended (cancel, churn, downgrade) but still show active or still charge.

  • Check 03 · Stripe / Shopify
    Expired coupons still discounting

Discounts still applying past campaign end / intended expiry — quiet margin death.

  • Check 04 · Stripe
    Duplicate subscriptions

Same customer, two active subs for one product — refund and chargeback fuel.

  • Check 05 · Stripe
    Legacy pricing drift

Active subs priced below the current published rate with no deliberate grandfather note.

  • Check 06 · Shopify
Margin bleed (COGS / discounts / shipping)

Orders at or below cost when COGS + discounts + shipping interact. Looks like a sale; erases margin.

These are the six fault classes Glint detects as symptoms (read-only). We describe what we see, not causes we don’t diagnose. Read-only keys cannot move money — enforced by Stripe.

Done checking manually?

Glint inventories the same six classes across a client portfolio with a restricted key — free for 3 stores. Nothing changes without your approve tap.
